Update - January 2018
Letters have gone home inviting everyone to have a hot meal on Wednesday 31st Jnauary before we go to the 02. In the evening the children will need a packed lunch to eat at the 02. This needs to be labelled in a plastic bag which can be thrown away.

Update - December 2017

The children have now learnt all of the songs that they will be performing at the concert. We will spend the lessons in January by practicing without the words on screen.

Update - December 2017

Letters went home today explaining that children will require a plain white t-shirt for the concert. If you struggle to find one then these can be purchased from the school on Tuesday mornings.

Security Information for Parents
What the arenas are doing to improve security and safety of the children:
  • All arenas have moved their security perimeter further outside the venue as far as their car parks where applicable so that they can monitor visitors and suspicious behaviour before people get to the venue.
  • All arenas now employ more security staff, both uniformed and non-uniform in post
  • Metal detectors
  • Bag searches and bag size restrictions
  • Enhanced Critical incident procedures
  • There are many other additional security measures in place which may be different at each arena based on up to date advice from their local police teams.
What Young Voices is doing to improve security and safety of the children:
  • This year we are not listing the concerts on the Arena websites so unless someone is a parent at a school they are unlikely to find out about the events.
  • If people book their tickets through the arena they will be asked what school they are from so we can deter any ticket bookers not directly linked to a school
  • The concert is finishing 10 mins early so that we can move schools out of the building slightly slower to ease congestion.
 Parents Arrival
  • Parents are advised to arrive early (between 6pm and 6.30pm ideally) to that they leave adequate time to go through security
  • Parent and all members of the audience must be prepared for bag checks, searches and airport style security on the entrances of the arenas.
  • Our best advice is to leave bags at home if possible as this speeds up the queue and will get everyone into the arenas much quicker. If parents have to bring bags only small bags will be allowed so please leave backpacks and larger bags at home.
School Egress
  • Schools are given detailed egress plans for how to leave the arena after the concert - please follow these and also follow any instructions given from the stage at the end of the concert.
  • We recommend that schools meet parents back at their school to reunite them with their children rather than at the arena. This is the safest way to get children back to their parents following the concert.

Update - 20th October 2017

Children have taken home lyric sheets for Young Voices. Happy learning over half term!

Update - 11th October 2017

All parent audience tickets have now been purchased so the school will not be purchasing any further tickets.

If you still wish to come then you will have to order directly from the 02 box office from the middle of November.

For those that have purchased tickets - you will receive these a few weeks before the concert date.

Update - 10th October 2017

Today, Mr De La Salle spent the day at The 02 in London with the leaders of the Young Voices concerts - Andy, Craig and David. They explained and practiced all of the songs.

Update - 25th September 2017

The children have begun to learn the songs for the concert by focus on the rock genre of 'You're in the band' and 'Africa'.

Reminder - Young Voices 2017

Here's what last year's concert looked like:

Update - 11th September 2017

What does the day look like for my child?
While it is not compulsory for Year 4’s to attend this event, we cannot emphasize enough how amazing the experience is!  We are very fortunate to have been allocated enough places for the whole year group to attend, which is a real rarity.
Further information will follow closer to the time, however, the following information will give you a rough idea of the day:
  • We will all leave school by coach for the 02 at lunch time.
  • Once we have arrived we will have the opportunity to take part in rehearsals throughout the day and meeting the other schools taking part in the concert.
  • At 5pm we then have a break to eat our packed lunch/tea, and have some chilled time.
  • At 7pm we will begin to prepare for the start of the concert.  This will last approximately 2 hours.
  • After the concert we will depart back to school on the coach, aiming to arrive for around 10:30pm.
  • As it is going to be a late evening return, the children will not need to come to school until a little later the next day.
The Young Voices songs will form part of the Year 4 Music Curriculum for the first term and a half, so all children will be learning the songs and routines in preparation for the big day.  We will also give you at home access to the concert material, so that you can help your child should you wish to do so.
What do I need to do to secure a place for my child?
In order for your child to attend the Young Voices concert, we ask that you return the attached permission slip to school no later than Monday 2nd October 2017.  While the concert itself is free for the children to attend, we must ask for a £12.00 contribution for the cost of transport.
Can I come and watch my child?
Yes of course!  All children will be leaving and returning to school by coach.  We cannot allow any children to be collected directly from the venue.  However, you are more than welcome to make your own way to and from the 02 to see your children take part in this unique experience.
Tickets are already on sale, at a price of £22.00 per person.
There is no limit to the number of tickets you may purchase, however, we have been informed
that they do sell out very quickly.
Tickets are only available through the school, therefore, we ask that you identify on the slip below the number of tickets you wish to purchase.  Please ensure you return your form by the end of the school day on Monday 2nd October 2017.
PLEASE NOTE:  Tickets are only available through school and once we have reached this date we will not be able to purchase any further tickets.   If we do not have your child’s permission slip by this date, we will be unable to secure their place.
