Typical Interventions

Language and Social Skills (LASS)
A twice weekly small group intervention for 12 weeks to support children’s social skills and language development. This supports children in Nursery and Reception.
 
Tiger Team
A twice weekly small group intervention for 6 weeks to support children’s co-ordination and concentration skills. This supports children throughout the school.
 
5 minute Box
A 1:1 daily intervention to support children’s phonic development. This supports children from Y1 to Y3.
 
Number Box
A 1:1 daily intervention to support children’s basic understanding of number. This supports children from Y1 to Y3.
 
15 Minutes a Day (Parts 1&2)
1:1 daily intervention to develop children’s basic reading and writing skills. This supports children from Y1 to Y5.
 
Handwriting Group
Small group intervention to support fine motor skills in order to develop children’s handwriting. This supports children from Y3 to Y5
 
Catch Up Literacy
A 1:1 twice weekly intervention to develop children’s reading and spelling skills. This supports children from Y3 to Y6.
 
Inference training
A twice weekly small group intervention which develops children’s comprehension skills. This supports children from Y4 to Y6
 
Turnabout
A 1:1 twice weekly intervention that develops children’s memory and processing skills.
 
SEAL (Social, Emotional Aspects of Learning)
Small group intervention which focuses on emotions and relationships. Timings and frequency of these groups depend on needs of children. These groups support children throughout the school.
 
Mentoring
1:1 intervention to support vulnerable children who may be experiencing particular difficulties with managing their behaviour or their ability to express themselves appropriately. Timings and frequency depend on needs of the child.
 
Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Small group provision which supports those children with autism. It is provided daily and focuses on strategies and skills needed to be an independent learner. It supports children throughout the school.
 
Speech and Language
Small group interventions which support attention and listening skills and expressive and receptive language development. The groups run at various times and targets are set, overseen and planned for by our Speech and Language Therapist.
