Lift Off Phase
(Reception & Year 1):
Learning to Think About Myself
Flight Phase
(Years 2, 3 & 4):
Knowing Myself and Thinking About Others
Soar Phase
(Years 5 & 6):
Searching for the Hero Inside Myself
The programme challenges pupils to work towards the award of five levelled coloured wristbands. Our wristbands reflect the Olympic Rings, reminding our pupils to live and learn like Olympic and Paralympic champions on their journey to achieving their
‘Platinum Hero Sweatshirt’
in Year 6.
A
HERO
is a person greatly regarded for their personal achievements and/or qualities and/or values. These qualities and values include:
Self Awareness (knowing and valuing themselves)
Self-Regulation (ability to manage their feelings)
Motivation (working towards goals with persistence, resilience and optimism)
Empathy (awareness of others’ thoughts and feelings)
Social Skills (building and maintaining relationships)
courage
determination
excellence
It is important that our Year 6 Heroes are able to consistently act as role models to younger children and students in their behaviour, attitude to school, learning and achievements.
The Platinum Sweatshirt is highly regarded by the pupils at Keys Meadow. It is the ultimate achievement at our school.
