Area Leader – Special Educational Needs
MPS (Outer London) with a TLR required from April 2016
Keys Meadow is a vibrant and inclusive two form entry school.  We work in a socially and ethnically diverse community and ‘we work together to inspire all our children to ‘lift off and soar’.
We have an exciting opportunity to work alongside our AHT – Inclusion to support the most vulnerable learners in our school to develop the skills and attitudes needed to make good progress.  The successful candidate will have proven experience as an outstanding practitioner with a specific interest in Special Educational Needs within a mainstream setting.
The role will include some class teaching responsibility and a proportion of the week teaching in our own nurturing provision.  Commitment to CPD is important and the successful candidate will be supported to complete the National Award Special Educational Needs Co-ordination.  The role will also include mentoring new and inexperienced staff.
We are looking for candidates who:
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Are ambitious and optimistic.
  • Are able to work effectively with colleagues to develop outstanding teaching for learning.
  • Have high expectations of pupils and a commitment to raising standards.
  • Have the ability to work in partnership with other professionals, parents, governors, other schools and the wider community.
